Happenings
On July 11, Sam Sampson of the Albany (WA) church celebrated his 99th birthday! Sam, described as “a shy farming gentleman”, was part of the nucleus which established the City Beach congregation and later the Darling Range church after his baptism in 1966. He took every opportunity to share the gospel. In 1979 he and his wife Emma established the Lord’s church in their home when they moved to Albany. After Emma died he married a Christian lady, Irene, in 2002. An active member of the Albany church, Sam still goes out to visit the elderly, because he knows they can benefit from such fellowship!

After the lectureship, students have begun regular third term classes including Romans & Galatians, Prison Letters, Lesson Preparation & Presentation and Practical Teaching, taught by David Carr, Bob Marks, Peter Tickner and Ted Paull.
On August 23rd over 25 young people from various congregations around Sydney and NSW attended the Hunter Valley Christians Youth Rally. An afternoon full of fun and games, singing and prayer, food and fellowship was followed by some thoughts by Joshua Turner on “Not Giving In To Temptation”, following Jesus’ example in John 17.
Mersey Bluff, Devonport, Tasmania has been advertising their congregation on the radio for years. They have also been advertising monthly in the Devonport Times. Now they are planning to try large screen T.V. in a public place, instead of their newspaper ads. This is called “Community Channel” advertising. The screen will be in the local post office and 20-second messages advertising the church will flash on the screen every few minutes.
In July, Jason and Nicole Whaley, Shawn & Kendra Griffith and Jon & Sara Grizzle, assisted by Dale Hartman, visited the Wollongong (NSW) area to investigate possibilities for working for the Lord there in the future. During the trip they worshipped with the Wollongong congregation, and expressed a willingness to work with them in this endeavour.===========================================================
